The 1336-SN-SP3A Printed Circuit Board (PCB), also known as the converter snubber board, is a replacement kit designed for use with specific adjustable frequency AC drives, including the Plus, Impact, Force, and Plus II series. This replacement kit includes 1 snubber board and 15 factory-supplied fastening screws, making it suitable for D-Frame drives within the series. These drives typically feature 180 Amps current ratings and nominal output power ratings ranging from 60 to 150 Horsepower. Some drive models require more than one snubber board for optimal functionality.
The 1336-SN-SP3A PCB is installed on the SCR module within the inverter bay of the host drive. Its primary function is to mitigate unnecessary “DV/DT” (transient voltage) triggering of the SCR, enhancing the drive's reliability and performance. While the exact placement may vary by drive model, it is generally located near the bridge heatsink on the converter assembly, also referred to as the converter bay.
This board is not backward-compatible with earlier versions, such as the 1336-SN-SP2A, and is intended solely as a replacement for designated models. It is field-installable and can only replace snubber boards with identical specifications.
