The 1336-SN-SP8A Printed Circuit Board (PCB), also referred to as a converter snubber board, is a stand-alone assembly designed for use in E-Frame drives. This snubber board assembly is located within the converter section of the drive and serves as a replacement component for specific drive series, including models with power ratings ranging from 150 to 250 horsepower. It is compatible with drives operating at input voltage ratings of 230 Volts AC, 460 Volts AC, and 575 Volts AC. The 1336-SN-SP8A assembly includes 3 individual snubber boards, a copper mounting plate, and stand-off screws for secure installation. This replacement board is backward-compatible with earlier versions of similar components.
The snubber board is installed near the SCR module within the drive's heat sink. To install the 1336-SN-SP8A snubber board, follow these steps:
Access the SCR assembly by referring to the troubleshooting guide for the corresponding drive model.
Remove the screws securing the heat sink.
Align the provided copper plate with the bus bar holes and securely fasten the snubber board to the bus bar.
Reattach the heat sink by reversing the disassembly steps.
Restore power to the drive.
This board is engineered to function within an ambient temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees Celsius (or 0 to 40 degrees Celsius when used in a NEMA Type 1 enclosure). It is built to meet the performance and reliability requirements of the drive family it supports.
