About product:
The 1746-HSTP1 is a stepper controller module designed for use with a variety of processors in the SLC 500 series. This single-slotted module is capable of operating with differential encoder motion, supporting over 8 million counts of absolute position. It can handle frequencies up to 250 kHz and provides a 250 kHz pulse train output for micro-stepping applications. The module employs loopback diagnostics and supports differential incremental encoder feedback devices. It interfaces directly with +5V or +15V encoders, offering differential feedback.
The module draws 200 mA of back-plane current at 5V and 90 mA at 24V. It supports a 5V DC differential encoder or 12-24V DC single-ended auxiliary inputs and provides a digital output for the translator with a 4 ms update time. The controller can handle pulse train switching of 7 to 30 mA at 5V DC and supports acceleration between 2 and 2500 pulses per second² with a trapezoidal velocity profile. The thermal dissipation of the controller is 1.5 watts, both at minimum and maximum operating conditions. It is designed for stepper motor drivers and offers a speed range from 1 to 250,000 pulses per second.
