The 1746-IO8 SLC 500 Digital Input/output Combined Module is a combined input and output module by Allen-Bradley and is fitted in any slot (except slot 0) of 1746 I/O chassis. It has four 120V AC inputs per module and 4 relay contacts outputs with 4 points per common. It has an operating voltage range (85-132V AC) similar to most members of the SLC 500 combined I/O modules and has an output rating of 5-65V AC and 5-125V DC at 47-53Hz. It draws a backplane current of 0.03A at 5V DC and 0.025A at 24V DC and has 0.27W heat dissipation on all input points and 0.133W heat across each output points.
The module has an aggregate heat dissipation of 3W, and has 35ms and 45ms signal delay time on both the input and output ON and OFF states. The relay contact output has a Normally Open (N.O.) contact with a contact rating of 1.5A continuous current per point at 120V AC and 1.2A per point at 24V DC. The 1746-IO8 has a factory-specified operating temperature range between 0 and 60 °C (32 and 140 °F) at 5-95% humidity and it has a designated non-operational temperature range between -40 and 85 °C (-40 and 185 °F). It has an operational shock rating of 30G and is also tested to withstand a maximum operational vibration of 2.5G at 57-200Hz. It is CE, CSA, and C-UL-certified and provides NEMA standard ICS 2-230 rated noise immunity.
The 1746-IO8 is a digital I/O combination module with a combination of 120V
AC inputs and relay contact outputs. Input operating voltage is 85...132V AC,
and output operating voltage is 5...265V AC or 5...125V DC. 1746IO8 contains 4
inputs and 4 outputs. Input off-state current, max. of 2mA and continuous
current per output of 1.5A at 120V AC or 1.2A at 24V DC. Backplane current
load of 60mA at 5V DC or 45mA at 24V DC
I/O Module-Ready Cables for 1746 Digital I/O Modules
The I/O module-ready cables have a pre-wired RTB on one end to plug onto the front
of a Bulletin 1746 I/O module and 20 or 40 individually colored #18 AWG conductors
on the other end. These cables provide the convenience of pre-wired connections at
the I/O module end, while still allowing the flexibility to fieldwire to standard terminal
blocks of your choice.
