The 1746-P1 is an SLC 500-compatible power supply designed to deliver reliable performance. It supports an input line voltage range of 85 to 132 Volts AC or 170 to 265 Volts AC, operating at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hertz, with a typical power requirement of 135 VA. This unit provides an internal current capacity of 2 A at 5 Volts DC and 0.46 A at 24 Volts DC, with a maximum inrush current of 20 A. Additionally, it offers a 24 Volt DC user-power capacity of 200 mA and a voltage range of 18 to 30 Volts DC for user applications. The maximum user-supplied overcurrent protection is 15 A, and the isolation between input terminals and the backplane is rated at 1800 Volts AC RMS for 1 second.

Compact in design, it measures 5.5 x 2.3 x 5.7 inches and weighs approximately 2 pounds (0.9 kilograms). The power supply is suitable for installation within a 1746 chassis and operates efficiently within a temperature range of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. Note that its current capacity is reduced by 5% if the operating temperature exceeds 55 degrees Celsius.

Proper installation requires setting the input jumper before applying power to prevent exposure to hazardous voltages that may cause injury. This power supply includes built-in fuse protection to mitigate fire hazards caused by short-circuit conditions. However, for user-power overcurrent situations, different behaviors are observed based on the manufacturing origin.
