It serves as a bridge between existing SLC control systems and modern Logix-based systems, allowing for the integration of SLC modules into Ethernet/IP-enabled networks.

This adapter typically replaces the SLC controller in the 1746 rack and can substitute the 1747-ASB module or ControlNet adapter with the 1747-ACN15 and 1747-ACNR15 on the remote SLC shelf.
