It is used to communicate with DeviceNet capable devices over the network to read inputs from a device, write outputs to a device, and download configuration. The module supports Ethernet and RS-232 communication protocols. The 1747-SDN uses flash backup memory. The module can be installed in any slot of the SLC 500 modular chassis. The 1747-SDN supports SLC 5/02 processor and higher and can handle up to 63 DeviceNet nodes.
