The Allen-Bradley 1756-A4 is a ControlLogix I/O Chassis-Based Module. It has a 4-Slot ControlLogix Chassis. Power dissipation and 1.8 W power consumption. It has dimensions of 10.35 x 6.65 x 5.71 in and weighs 1.7 lbs. It is horizontally mounted inside the panel and it has an open enclosure. It has a maximum Backplane current of 1.5 A at 1.2 V DC, 4 A at 3.3 V DC, 15 A at 5.1 V DC, and 2.8 A at 24 V DC. For communication, it uses a ControlNet or an EtherNet/IP network.
The 1756-A4 Standard Chassis includes time-stamping capabilities for SOE applications. The chassis backplane provides a high-speed communication path between modules and distributes power to each of the modules within the chassis. It needs a Bulletin 1492 wiring IFM or an RTB to connect all of the field-side wirings. For programming, it uses Studio 5000 Logix Designer Application software. The software includes I/O wizards for simple module configuration.
The 1756-A4 Standard Chassis provides easy maintenance with the Removal and Insertion Under Power (RIUP) feature. For preventing replacement errors, it also offers electronic keying. In case of any system or field side failure, its comprehensive diagnostic feature helps identify the fault. It is compact, cost-effective, and easily compatible with devices such as a PanelView operator.
