The 1756-IB16 is a 16-point DC input module designed for use with compatible I/O systems. This module features 8 points per group and connects seamlessly to a compatible I/O chassis. It supports various removable terminal block (RTB) housings, such as the 1756-TBNH 20-position NEMA RTB and the 1756-TBSH 20-position spring clamp RTB. Before installation, it's essential to ensure that the correct RTB is available, and that the chassis and power supply are properly installed and grounded.
The module operates at a nominal input voltage of 24 Volts DC and is designed for a 12/24 Volt DC sink input. Its operating voltage range spans from 10 to 31.2 Volts DC, and it has a total backplane power requirement of 0.56W. The current draw at 5.1 Volts DC is 100 mA, and at 24 Volts, it is 2 mA. The module is also designed with a maximum inrush current of 250 mA peak, which decays to 37% in 22 milliseconds when not activated. Its isolation voltage can reach up to 250 Volts continuously.
The power dissipation of the module is 5.1 Watts at 60°C, with a thermal dissipation of 17.39 BTU/hour. For its on-state, the current ranges from 2.0 mA at 10 Volts DC to 10 mA at 31.2 Volts DC, while in the off-state, it has a maximum voltage of 5V and a maximum current of 1.5 mA. Additionally, the module has a maximum input delay time of 1 millisecond hardware delay, plus user-configurable filter time, which can be set to 0, 1, or 2 milliseconds. The total delay time, including hardware and user-configured filter time, can reach a maximum of 2 milliseconds, with further filtering options available at 0, 1, 2, 9, or 18 milliseconds.
