The Allen-Bradley 1756-IB32 is a ControlLogix Digital I/O Module.
Part of the ControlLogix system, this input module has 32 inputs available, with 16 points in each group. It is mounted to a ControlLogix chassis using a required removable terminal block housing, or RTB, of either 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H. When installing the 1756-IB32 module, please note this module has a slot width of 1. Additionally, it has an open enclosure type.
The 1756-IB32 module has an operating voltage range of 10 to 31.2V DC and a nominal input voltage of 24V DC. It has a voltage category of 12/24V DC sink, a current draw of 120 mA at 5.1V and 2 mA at 24V, and a total backplane power of 0.66W. The maximum power dissipation is 6.2W at 60 Degrees Celsius, while thermal dissipation is 21.1 BTU/hour also at 60 Degrees Celsius. This module also has a maximum inrush current of 250 mA, decaying to less than 37% in 22 ms, without activation. During an off-state, its maximum current is 2.27 mA and its maximum voltage is 5V.
The input delay time for Off-to-On and On-to-Off differ. For Off-to-On, there is a hardware delay of up to 380 µs plus a user-configurable filter time of either 0, 1, or 2 ms. The On-to-Off delay time includes the hardware delay of up to 420 µs plus the user-configurable filter time of either 0, 1, 2, 9, or 18 ms.
The 1756-IB32 is equipped with reverse polarity protection and a software configurable change of state feature.
