The 1771-DE is an Absolute Encoder Module designed for precise machine position tracking. As an intelligent module, it offers rapid response and communicates with the programmable controller scan. It can monitor the position of an absolute encoder, comparing it with preset values to control up to 8 high-current outputs. The throughput for all 8 outputs is less than 200 microseconds, and it supports block transfers to the programmable controller. With the ability to operate at 16A continuously, the module can switch 2A DC per output without derating when all outputs are active.
The module operates with a +5V DC input power supply and includes line/load regulation, drift, and ripple in its total output voltage tolerance. It requires a maximum current of 300 mA, supporting encoder formats such as BCD, natural binary, and standard gray. The 1771-DE has a physical dimension of 6" x 3" x 10" (15 cm x 8 cm x 25 cm) and weighs 1.30 kg. It features a 4.7 ms new write-data throughput time and provides 9 pound-inches of torque for wiring arm connections.
