The 1794-AENT is a communication adapter designed for the Flex I/O system, enabling connectivity to Ethernet networks for data exchange with Ethernet-capable controllers. This module supports up to eight Flex I/O modules, accommodating discrete and analog input/output modules for versatile automation needs.
The Flex I/O family provides a compact and cost-efficient solution for distributed I/O configurations. The 1794-AENT facilitates this through its single RJ45 port, supporting the Ethernet/IP protocol with communication speeds of 10/100 Mbps. It is suitable for linear network topologies.
Network addressing for the 1794-AENT can be configured using its built-in thumbwheel switches or via a DHCP server. By default, the thumbwheel switches are set to 999.
When wiring the module, the recommended wire size is between 0.33 and 3.31 mm² (22 to 12 AWG) stranded copper wire, with an insulation rating of at least 75 °C (167 °F) and a maximum insulation thickness of 1.2 mm (3/64 in.). Terminal screw torque should be set to 0.8 Nm (7 lb-in.). The module has compact physical dimensions of 87 x 94 x 92 mm (3.4 x 3.7 x 3.6 in.) and weighs approximately 227 g (8.01 oz.).
The 1794-AENT can act as a remote I/O adapter for various control systems, integrating seamlessly into advanced industrial automation setups.
