The 1794-IE8 is part of the Flex I/O series, designed as an analog input module for distributed I/O systems. This module operates alongside communication adapters and terminal bases to create flexible and efficient input/output architectures.
With eight (8) single-ended, non-isolated channels that can be user-configured to receive input signals of 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA, +/- 10 VDC, or 0 to 10 VDC, the 1794-IE8 is suitable for interfacing a wide variety of field devices. These include instruments like transmitters, analog indicators, recorders, and process controllers that generate compatible signal ranges.
The module features a resolution of 12 bits in unipolar mode and 11 bits plus sign in bipolar mode. It utilizes a successive approximation conversion method, storing the resulting data in a left-justified, 16-bit 2’s complement format. The conversion rate is 256 µs across all channels. It offers absolute accuracy of 0.20% full scale at 25°C and an accuracy drift of -0.00428% full scale/°C for voltage inputs and 0.00407% full scale/°C for current inputs. The module is factory-calibrated and does not require additional calibration.
