The 1794-IV16 FLEX I/O module comes with useful operating features like support for long thermocouple wiring, support for grounded and ungrounded thermocouples, a good common mode rejection function, and detection for over-range, under-range, and wire-off situations.
The 1794-IV16 module has been designed and manufactured by in its FLEX I/O series as a thermocouple, RTD, and millivolt input module. The 1794-IRT8XT module is a newer model in the FLEX I/O module series. It should not be used in industrial settings that have corrosive atmospheres and large amounts of liquids because it does not come with a protective conformal coating.
