Resistive touchscreen displays are commonly found in industrial controls, composing of many layers and have a plastic front surface. When the moment the screen is pressed, it's activated by the conductive material on the inner side. Once contacted, the layers of the resistive screen inform the system of the touch position and its coordinates. However, capacitive screens are shaped by an electrically charged layer that corresponds to commands by the exchange of electrons. It calculates coordinates without the demand to apply pressure, transforming them into commands.
