The Velomitor XA (Extended Application) sensor is a ruggedized version of the Bently Nevada 330500 Velomitor sensor. Its 316L stainless steel housing and unique all-weather connector and cable assembly enable it to be installed without an external housing. The Velomitor XA sensor cable assembly is suitable for use in humid environments.
The design of the Velomitor XA sensor meets the IP-65 and NEMA 4X dustproof ratings. If you need to measure the machine housing to determine the sensor installation position, consider what type of data you need to obtain. The most common machine faults (such as imbalance or misalignment) originate from the rotor and cause changes in rotor vibration.
The position you select on the housing must accurately transmit rotor vibrations to the sensor. Careful installation of the sensor is crucial; otherwise, the sensor may fail to detect vibrations accurately and transmit invalid data.
