Introduction:

Silicon steel is a carbon-silicon ferrous alloy with a silicon content of 0.5 to 4.5 per cent. It has excellent properties such as high magnetic permeability, low coercivity and high coefficient of resistance. Depending on the arrangement of the grains and the degree of aggregation of crystal orientation in silicon steel, it can be divided into non-oriented silicon steel and oriented silicon steel. Oriented silicon steels have grains orientated in the same direction in the rolling direction, which gives them excellent magnetic induction strength and makes them suitable for use in stationary applications such as various types of transformers. Unoriented silicon steels have grains orientated in different directions, and although their magnetic induction strength is weaker than that of oriented silicon steels in the rolling direction, they have good magnetic induction strength in all directions and are suitable for use in rotating machines, such as industrial motors, drive motors for new-energy vehicles, and motors for various types of household electrical appliances.
