The 1203-GU6 Enhanced DeviceNet Communications Module has been designed and manufactured by PLC and included in the 1203 family of communication modules. This specific module can be installed mounted on a DIN rail and it can be connected to a SCANport product through a SCANport cable. This module enables the users to connect SCANport products to a DeviceNet network, which is one of the most common industrial networks. The PLC 1203-GU6 Enhanced DeviceNet Communications Module includes peer I/O capabilities that allow the drive's I/O to be broadcast to or received from other drives.
The PLC 1203-GU6 Enhanced DeviceNet Communications Module comes with DIN rail mounting hardware and with an RS-232 serial port. It also comes enclosed in a NEMA Type 1 rated enclosure that protects it from solid particles in the industrial environment. This enclosure does not protect it against contact with liquids, however. This module has a power consumption rating of 30 milliamps at 12 Volts that is supplied through the SCANport network, and 60 milliamps at 24 Volts that is supplied through the DeviceNet network. The PLC 1203-GU6 Enhanced DeviceNet Communications Module can be used with a single peripheral device or with up to 6 peripheral devices at the same time. Note that once multiple peripherals are connected to a SCANport product, a port expander may be required.
