The PLC 1746-IV32 is a 24V SLC 500 Current Sourcing Digital DC Input Module. It has high density so it is suited for limited panel space. It operates at a voltage range of 15 to 30V DC at 122 degrees Fahrenheit and 15 to 26V DC at 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Its backplane current 50mA at 5V and backplane current load is 106mA at 5V. Nominal input current is 5.1mA at 24V DC. It has 32 input points and 8 points per common. There are 0.2 watts per point. Thermal dissipation occurs at a minimum of 0.53 watts and a maximum of 6.90 watts. Its signal on and off have a maximum delay of 3 milliseconds respectively.
The 1746-IV32 can be installed into any slot on the chassis. It is compatible with 1492-Cable * G which has a total of 40 conductors. It is also compatible with the 1492-Cable N3 which has 40 #18 AWG individually colored conductors. This compatibility exists because the 32-point modules have a 40-pin male connector rather than screw terminals. The V DC pins are isolated into 4 groups and the 2V DC pins have an internal connection. A 1492 terminal block capable of providing group isolation must be used in order to keep the group isolation feature offered by this input module.The 1746-IV32 can be used in either fixed or modular type controllers. Its modules are fused to offer protection to external wiring. There is a single fuse for each common. These fuses cannot be replaced and have a 2.5A rating.
