The PLC 1761-NET-DNI is a DeviceNet interface. This device is a stand-alone component that functions as a protocol converter. It allows DF1 enabled devices to exchange data and communicate with devices residing on a DeviceNet network. This module uses a DIN rail or panel mounting and is compatible for use with MicroLogix controllers, PLC5, SLC 5/03, and higher processors as well as Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
The 1761-NET-DNI comes with two (2) communication interfaces, with Port 1 supporting DeviceNet network and comes with a field replaceable 3-wire terminal block. This terminal block has a replacement part-number of 1761-RPL-0000. Port 2 of this device is an 8-Pin mini-DIN circular RS-232 interface that supports DF1 full protocol.
The 1761-NET-DNI is designed to operate in peer-to-peer and DeviceNet slave mode. Specifically, it supports being configured to perform peer-to-peer messaging and DeviceNet Master/Slave I/O.
