The Allen-Bradley 1771-OQ16 is a 24V DC Isolated Output Module of the 1771 Digital DC Output Modules for PLC-5 Systems. It contains a total of 16 outputs with a sink or source voltage category. It has an operating voltage ranging from 10-32V DC, with a maximum continuous current of 32 A. The 1771-OQ16 features a modular hardware design that allows space-saving and cost-effective installations. It can be added to a processor-resident local I/O chassis of a PLC-5 controller and is ideal for general purpose and isolated circuits applications. The 1771-OQ16 Isolated Output is designed to operate with relays and other DC output devices. It has a total of 18 LED indicators –16 for output status, a fuse blown indicator, and an active indicator. An “on” signal communicated between the module and the system backplane triggers corresponding indicators to light up. The 1771-OQ16 can be installed into the 1771-AM1 and -AM2 and any 1771 I/O chassis except the 1771-A1, A2, and A4 chassis.
Place the 1771-OQ16 Module in any of the chassis slots except the leftmost one reserved for adapters or processors. The keying bands should be placed between pins 22 and 24, and pins 32 and 34. Correct key placement is crucial to avoid damage to the module or backplane and possible system faults.
