The PLC 1771-P4R is a Power Supply module that is used with the 1771 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. This module is specifically used to increase the system uptime and availability as it allows pairing to another 1771-P4R, providing an additional layer of protection along the power supply line. With a redundant power supply configuration, the power supply units operate simultaneously with one unit’s output relegated as standby source. When the active power supply unit fails or shuts down, the secondary active supply takeover, preventing unwanted stoppage or shutdown to the system.
The 1771-P4R operates when supplied with an input voltage range of 97-132 Volts AC with a frequency of 47-73 Hertz. It delivers an output voltage to the backplane of 5 Volts DC and an output current of 8 Amperes. It comes with an integral fuse with 1.5 Amperes, 250 Volts AC rating. This module occupies only a single slot of the 1771 chassis. Additionally, it comes with an output alarm that is rated 250 Volts AC.
The 1771-P4R is designed for maximum system output current of 8 Amperes for a 2 unit system; 14 Amperes for a 3 unit system and 20 Amperes for a 4 unit system. These ratings are within 60 degrees Celsius operating environment using N+1 Redundancy.
