The 1783-BMS20CL switch is a 20-port Ethernet switch. In supervisor mode, the switch can gather information from the ring and can manage the DLR status and machine-level DLR diagnostics. The supervisor node also provides alternate routes when it detects a ring break. DLR is used in high-performance network applications that cannot tolerate network outage. Of the 20 switch ports, 16 are RJ45 Fast Ethernet ports, 2 are Fast Ethernet combo ports, and the remaining 2 are Fast Ethernet fiber ports.
The 1783-BMS20CL switch runs on DC input ranging from 12 to 48 Volts DC. The minimum and maximum current draw of the switch are 0.5 Amps and 3 Amps, respectively. A SELV or Class 2 power supply should be used for the switch power. The typical power consumed by the 1783-BMS20CL switch is 21 Watts at 40 degrees Celsius and 24 Volts DC. The peak power consumption of the switch can reach 30 Watts. For isolation voltage, the 1783-BMS20CL switch has been type tested at 850 Volts DC for 60 seconds.
