The PLC 1785-L60B is a processor module for PLC-5 programmable controllers which belongs to the Enhanced PLC-5 controllers’ family. The 1785-L60B can be installed in a single slot in the 1771 I/O chassis. It supports a maximum user memory of 64 K words. The maximum number of I/O supported is 3072, which can be 3072 inputs, 3072 outputs, or any mix of 3072 I/O. It supports up to 24 I/O racks, and maximum 93 I/O chassis (including 1 local and up to 92 remote chassis). A keyswitch is provided on the front of the 1785-L60B controller to select the controller mode which can be set to either program, remote, or run mode. The outputs are disabled in program mode, which can be used to create, edit, and delete ladder, SFC, and data files. In run mode, the outputs and program execution feature are enabled.
The communication ports provided on the 1785-L60B include 4 DH+/Remote I/O (Adapter/scanner mode) and 1 serial port which is configurable for RS-232/RS-423 and it is compatible with the RS-422A module. The 1785-L60B includes a battery. At 60 degrees Celsius, the battery has a life of 150 days with 50% of the power off and 5 days after the battery indicator turns on. At 25 degrees Celsius, the battery has a life of 1.2 years with 50% of the power off and 30 days after the battery indicator turns on. The 1785-L60B draws 3.3 Amps current at 5 Volts DC from the chassis backplane and it dissipates maximum 17.3 W power as heat.
