The 2094-BM05 is a multi-axis module manufactured by PLC. The module belongs to the Kinetix 6000 multi-axis servo drive family. The module is also in the Bulletin 2094 in the Kinetix servo drives. The 2094-BM05, like other modules intended for use with servo drives in the PLC Kinetix 6000 series, provides a cost-effective way to handle even the most demanding applications easily and quickly. The 2094-BM05 is easy to use, designed to accommodate simple wiring, and it has a compact size. The Kinetix 6000 drive systems are designed to be used in industries dealing with, among other things, assembly, packaging, and material handling. The PLC 2094-BM05 has a current rating of 49 Amps and it belongs to the 400 Volts voltage class. The module does not feature a safe torque-off feature.
Note that the 2094-BM05, because it is an integrated axis module, cannot be used with a Kinetix 6500 EtherNet/IP control module on the same power rail (Bulletin 2094) which also holds the Kinetix 6200 Sercos drives. Before installing the 2094-BM05 or any other Kinetix 6000 drive module, the installation should be planned in advance so as that any necessary tapping, drilling, welding, and cutting can be done off-site. This prevents metal chips from falling on the drive, because these ships may cause the circuitry to become clogged and damage some electronic components or cause the 2094-BM05 to malfunction. For the 2094-BM05 to comply with the Underwriters Laboratories’ (UL) requirements, it should be mounted in a grounded conductive enclosure. The enclosure should be one that is lockable to prevent unauthorized access to the 2094-BM05 module.
