The 2711P-RN10C communication module is a DeviceNet communication module that is made for the Allen-Bradley PanelView Plus 400 and 600 series terminals. All the PanelView Plus and the PanelView Plus CE terminals with DeviceNet communication modules support DeviceNet scheduled I/O communications. PanelView Plus and PanelView Plus CE terminals operate as scanner or slave devices on the DeviceNet network. Any communication cable that is used should not be connected to or disconnected from the 2711P-RN10C module or any network device while the power is applied. Failure to follow this precaution can lead to an electrical arc which could cause an explosion.
A number of indicators are available on the 2711P-RN10C module, including an I/O status indicator, module status indicator, and a NET status indicator. The operating temperature range for the 2711P-RN10C module is from 0 to 55 degrees Celsius. The transportation and storage temperature range is from -25 to 70 degrees Celsius. The recommended relative humidity level around the 2711P-RN10C module should be between 5 and 95%. The operating shock rating is 15 G at 11 milliseconds. The non-operating shock rating is 30 G at 11 milliseconds. The 2711P-RN10C module should be installed at altitudes that do not exceed 2000 meters. A complete PanelView terminal is comprised of three components: a display module, a logic module, and an optional communication module such as the 2711P-RN10C module. The display module can also be used for operator input if it supports touch control. The logic module houses the processor and memory modules, I/O modules, and the connections for power input. USB, serial, and Ethernet interfaces are available on the logic module. If additional communication interfaces are required, then modules such as the 2711P-RN10C module can be installed.
