The SP-170023 by Allen Bradley belongs to the family of discrete adapter boards working on 24 Volts DC. It is used as an interfacing medium between the 1395 main control board and external devices connected to the system. This part consists of two contact outputs which are programmable to 16 logic status bits and four discrete inputs, fed by a power of 24 Volts DC. It generally consists of resistors and optoisolators, where the primary use is to help in transferring the feedback signals coming from the I/O and sent through to the main control board.
This module supports two types of control parameters: its first, the set-up parameter, is used when programming of the control board is required. Alternatively, the configuration parameter makes sure that the run-time operations of the 1395 drive are being taken care off. With optimum operation in maximum moisture levels of 95% and temperature ranges between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius, it is quite flexible and can adapt to many different atmospheres.
