The NDCU-21 and NDCU-22 are identical except for the optical component type of fibre optic channel CH0: NDCU-21 has a 10 MBd transmitter and receiver while the NDCU-22 has 5 MBd. This is only important when using an overriding controller on Channel CH0 with the ISU, as the optical components must be of the same type at each end
of the link. As a rule of thumb, use an NDCU-21 when the supply unit is to be controlled by an Advant Controller (AC) 80; use an NDCU-22 with a fieldbus adapter. The boards of the NDCU are coated.
