This power system will provide the corresponding DC operating power to the corresponding modules of the field control unit HCU of the distributed control system Symphony, as well as local equipment such as transmitters required on the site.

The most prominent difference between the two power systems MPSIII and MPSII is that the MPSIII power system uses standard power modules and can choose different power modules based on the load and level of power consumption to meet the needs of different user sites.

MPSIII power system main features

Structure of MPSIII

       The basic structure of general MPSIII includes: power input panel, power installation bracket, block power supply, fan assembly and DC bus monitoring component, etc., and the power input panel, power block and other components will be selected according to needs, which can drive users The power structure of the device.

Power Entry Panel (PEP)

       The main function of the power input panel PEP is to introduce external power into the system. It includes 12 different models to choose from. The basic installation structure of PEP is the same, but the power supply mounting frame and external input power it supports will be selected according to needs, which also constitutes different models of PEP.

       The power input panel includes:

      • 2 factory power supply connection terminals (allows the user to connect the required external power supply with 16 to 4 mm2 wires)

Fan Assembly

      The fan assembly of the power supply system provides cooling for the system module operation of the HCU. The operating voltage of each fan is 24VDC. Its power is connected to the fan through the power bus bar and cable.

      • Optional enclosure temperature monitoring

      • Status output connection

      Various terminals provided by this mounting bracket are connected to the power bus bar of the cabinet through corresponding wires to obtain the power distribution characteristics. + 48VDC, + 125VDC power supply is a power supply specially used for field equipment. The block power supply can be replaced online when a problem occurs. Of course, before removing the power supply, you must pass the switch on the PEP to turn off the power supply to ensure safety.

       If the system uses more power levels, this requires the use of 2 power supply mounting brackets and 4 block power supplies. For a typical dual-mount application, field power should be installed in the upper part and system power should be installed in the lower part.

The block-shaped power supply can be inserted into the power supply mounting bracket and fixed with bolts. The power supply is available in 15 different models. This power supply can provide system operation power such as: + 5VDC, + 15VDC, 15VDC, and also provide on-site power such as + 24VDC, + 48VDC, + 125VDC. The system has a shared circuit, which can be used by redundant power supplies to bear the output current, and the effective power factor adjustment of the AC input power can be up to 0.95. The block power supply monitors its output and internal temperature and displays the current status of the power supply via LEDs.

Each block power supply is connected to the PEP by a cable wire.

       A typical MPSIII system can be divided into 2 various structures namely:
