The Allen-Bradley 1746-HSCE2 is a Multi-Channel High-Speed Counter Module for SLC 500 systems. The SLC 500 family uses a wide range of features and options to offer flexibility and efficiency.The 1746-HSCE2 features six high-speed inputs and supports quadrature encoders with ABZ inputs.  The inputs can be wired for differential or single-ended use. The unit also has eight outputs, four real and four virtual. You can configure up to 16 dynamic ranges using rates or counts to control outputs.
