The CamCon 1756-DICAM digital cam switch device is manufactured for the Allen Bradley ControlLogix 1756 PLC system. It is used in industrial applications for periodic repetitive switching operations. Digital cam switches are an ideal alternative to mechanical switch units, providing additional advantages including simple installation and adjustment processes, repeatable adjustment processes, reliability, high-speed switching, and speed compensation. A total of 32 status indicator lights are provided on the front panel of the module. The interfaces on the 1756-DICAM cam switch include ControlLogix 1756 backplane bus interface and optional RS-485 interface for testing. There are 24 outputs on the module, which are separated by electrolysis and used for ControlLogix configuration. There are 8 inputs on the module, which are also separated by electrolysis. The number of outputs and inputs can be expanded to 200 through external interface options.
