The 3300 NSv probe and extension cable are both mechanically and electrically compatible and interchangeable with Bently Nevada's previous 3300 RAM proximity probe and extension cable. Compared to the 3300 RAM probe, the NSv probe offers enhanced chemical resistance, making it suitable for a wider range of process compressor applications. Additionally, the side-view characteristics of the 3300 NSv probe are superior to those of the 3000-series 190 probe when the probe is gapped at the same distance from the target.

For the minimum configurations:
Standard X-Y probe configuration: 30 mm (1.2 in).
X-Y proximity probes offset axially by 23 mm (0.9 in): 20 mm (0.8 in).

When measuring shaft diameters smaller than 30 mm (1.2 in), closer spacing of radial vibration or axial position transducers is usually required. This proximity can potentially cause issues with the measurement system’s accuracy.
