Echinacea's main active ingredients, polyphenols, caffeic acid derivatives
and polysaccharides have the following function -- Significantly improve immune
system:
·
Antibiotics
·
Activation of tissue growth
·
Blood purification
·
Antiviral effect
·
Anti-oxidation and anti-free radical effect
·
Tumor inhibition
·
Inhibiting effect on hyaluronidase
·
Anti-inflammatory effect
·
Interferon-like effect
1. Immune stimulation
Inulin: plays a role by increasing the
number of granulocytes and white blood cells, and increases the chemotaxis of
monocytes and neutrophils.
Polysaccharide: the hydrocarbon
receptors on the surface of T lymphocytes and macrophages produce immune
stimulation, which can increase the phagocytosis ability of macrophages, and
stimulate macrophages to increase the number of tumor necrosis factor,
interferon, and white blood cell intermediation, which can destroy tumor cells.
Alkylamines and caffeic acid
derivatives: lipophilic alkylamines can increase the phagocytic ability of
macrophages.
Echinacea: increases the activity of
non-specific T cells, produces interferon, promotes the secretion of
lymphocytes, reduces t-helper cells, and reduces the ratio of t-helper cells to
inhibitory factors.
2. Tissue renewal and anti-infection effect
Inhibiting hyaluronidase (hyaluronidase)
can stimulate the growth of fibroblasts and the synthesis of glucosaminase,
produce corticosterone and promote the secretion of adrenal cortical
hormone.Polysaccharides have anti-infection effects.
3. Antibacterial effect
Echinacea and caffeic acid derivatives
have weak antibacterial activity.
4. Antiviral effect
Can inhibit influenza, herpes and
blistering viruses, antiviral activity is attributed to the inhibition of
hyaluronidase, can block the cell surface of the virus receptor.
