The A6220 Shaft Eccentricity Vibration Monitor is designed for high reliability in monitoring the plant’s most critical rotating machinery. Used in conjunction with other AMS 6500 monitors, it helps form a complete API 670-compliant machinery protection system, suitable for applications such as steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, and hydro turbomachinery.

This monitor uses a displacement sensor to measure shaft movement, which is proportional to shaft bowing or bent shafts, typically below 600 rpm. The sensor can be mounted through the bearing case or internally on the bearing housing with an eccentricity collar near the thrust bearing. It is a non-contact sensor that provides accurate monitoring of shaft eccentricity.

The A6220 features a two-channel, 3U size, 1-slot plugin module, reducing cabinet space requirements compared to traditional four-channel 6U cards. It is a hot-swappable, API 670-compliant module that offers remote-selectable limit multiply and trip bypass functions. Additionally, it provides front and rear buffered and proportional outputs, including 0/4-20 mA and 0-10 V outputs for flexible integration with your monitoring systems.
