Rack and pinion gears are made of a small round spur gear (the pinion) and a flat bar with evenly spaced teeth (the rack). Rack and pinion gears convert rotational motion into linear motion. As the pinion turns, its teeth mesh with the rack’s teeth to move it in a straight line. Rack and pinion gears are commonly used in automotive steering, meat processing, and rack railways, among other applications.
Gear racks are utilized to convert rotating movement into linear motion. A gear rack has straight teeth cut into one surface of a square or round section rod with a pinion, which is a small cylindrical gear meshing with the gear rack. There are many ways to use gears. For example, as shown in the picture, a gear is used with the gear rack to rotate a parallel shaft.
Features:
1.Gear rack for use with spur gear pinion to convert rotary motion into linear motion
2.High abrasion resistance for strength and durability
3.Pressure angle of 20 degrees for a lower contact ratio between gears
4.Rack length sized for up to 2' of linear movement from rotary motion
5.Meets AGMA commercial class standards
We also offer custom gear rack manufacturing. We can also manufacture spur gears, bevel gears, helical gears, gear clusters, metric gears, anti-backlash gears, worm gears, gear blanks, gear stock, pinion shafts, ratchets and pawls.
