IC670ALG330 Specification

The RJ45 port on the VMSE supports RS232. The screw block port supports both RS232 and RS485/422. Setting the switch on the front of the VMSE and configuring the VMSE setup selects RS232 or RS485/422. Only one port can be used at a time. Additional firmware options are provided on the CD that is shipped with the VMSE. These include Modbus TCP/RTU, and Pass Thru firmware, which can be used to send serial communication via Ethernet.

Serial I/O can be used to

• Initialize either port

• Set up the size of the received data buffer

• Flush the received data buffer

• Read the port status

• Activate/deactivate RTS on the serial port

• Cancel an operation

• Automatically dial a modem and send a specified byte string

• Send up to 250 characters from word memory to a remote device through the specified port

• Read one or more received characters from an internal input buffer
