The GE Fanuc IC693CBL316 Serial Interface Cable is a serial cable assembly designed to interconnect CPU modules and digital servo modules like the IC693CMM321, IC693CPU351, IC693CPU352, IC693CPU363 IC693DSM302, and the IC693DSM314 modules with RJ-11 communications ports to a PC serial port. All the CPU firmware upgrades and programmed applications are downloaded to Port 1 of these modules from the Loader software on the PC by using the IC693CBL316 Serial Cable. The IC693CBL316 Serial Cable is also called a “Station Manager Cable” because it can be used to connect Ethernet supported terminals or terminal emulators with Station Manager RS-232 ports for quick access to the Station Manager software over the high-speed Ethernet network without a converter. Other applications include connecting a PC serial port to the RJ-11 faceplate serial port on IC693CPU351, IC693CPU352, and IC693CPU363 CPU modules for programming, configuration, firmware upgrading, and monitoring purposes.
