GE UR8CH DIGITAL I/O MODULE
The UR series of Multilin GE universal relays have an EnerVista lauchpad software package that manages and programs the universal relay. Each relay contains this software, which allows programmable setpoints and setpoints files to be managed by the operators. The firmware can also be accessed through this software to keep up with the latest versions. The firmware version may have implications to the CT/VT modules and the CPUs that are found within a specific relay. For example, over the years new CT/VT modules and new CPUs have been released for function within the broader universal relay Multilin series. With firmware versions of 4.0x and newer, compatibility can be achieved with the hardware. Specifically new CT/VT modules and CPUs must be included together in the same universal relay with the firmware of 4.0x or more recent. On the same token, the older versions of the CPUs and the CT/VT modules are compatible with firmware versions of 3.5x or older. If a UR-8CH CT/VT module is contained in the universal relay, regardless of the specific relay’s function, it is likely that the relay has a firmware version of 3.5x or older since the UR-8CH is an old order code of CT/VT modules.
