The top of the housing has one 4-pin female jack, one fuse, and one circuit breaker. Most boards used in the DS3820PSCB1C1B are mounted inside the frame, but the DS3800XTFP is mounted by screws to one outside wall.

DS3820PSCB1C1B is drilled to allow for the mounting of components. The frame is open in several locations (top, three sides,) to allow access to components and to dissipate heat using air circulation.
