The IC697BEM733 scanner can accommodate numerous combinations of discrete and analog inputs and outputs regardless of the number of racks in the drop. A remote drop can include all available IC697 discrete modules, analog modules, and analog expander modules. Bus Transmitter, Bus Receiver, PCM, and ADS modules can also be located in a remote drop.
The IC697BEM733 can handle up to 128 input/output bytes per remote drop (comprised of a remote I/O scanner and the corresponding modules). A remote drop can include a maximum of eight racks, which are linked by a bus transmitter and a bus receiver. Racks with 9 or 5 slots are appropriate. The distance from the first rack to the last in a remote drop is no more than 50 feet or 15 meters.
