Video and audio services: DVB-ASI, SDI, HD-SDI, 3G-SDI, MADI
For the rate of each service type, see Supported Services.
NOTE:
The board supports GE/FE optical signals and electrical signals.
When 10GE LAN services are received on the client side and mapped into ODUflex, the client equipment must support flow control response.
The board can receive DVB-ASI, SDI, HD-SDI, and 3G-SDI electrical signals using digital video O/E converters (third-party devices). Optical modules equipped on these converters must meet the boards' requirements for optical modules.
MADI optical ports comply with the FDDI protocol. Therefore, to support MADI optical port transmission, you need to configure a FDDI service and select the multi-mode 1310 nm optical module on the NMS.
|
Service mapping mode

|
Maximum frame length (MFL) for a port
|
Ranges from 1518 bytes to 9600 bytes.
NOTE:
The board provides the maximum frame length (MFL) for a port function only when receiving 10GE LAN services on the client side. when Port Mapping is set to Bit Transparent Mapping (11.1G), Maximum Frame Length is unavailable on the U2000.
|
Protection schemes
|
Client 1+1 Protection
|
Supported
NOTE:
If the working mode of the port on the board is ODU1_ODU0, client-side 1+1 protection is not supported.
|
ODUk SNCP
|
Supported
|
Tributary SNCP
|
Supported
NOTE:

When the cross-connect granularity is ODUflex, the board does not support tributary SNCP protection.
Support tributary SNCP for ODU0 only when working in ODU1_ODU0 (OTU1->ODU1->ODU0) mode.
|
LPT
|
Supported
NOTE:
The LPT function is supported only when the client-side service type is FE/GE/10GE LAN.
|
Service encryption
|
Supported
NOTE:
-
This function is supported only when TNF6TTA board works with the system control boards TNZ1UXCL and TNZ5UXCMS.
-
An encrypted service must be bidirectional.
-
When OTN service cascading or tributary SNCP is configured for the board, the board does not support service encryption.
-
If you perform a fault locating operation such as loopback or PRBS test on any port that an encrypted service traverses, the client service encryption function may fail or work abnormally or the services may become interrupted.
-
In ODU1_ODU0 mode or ODU1 convergence mode, service encryption is not supported.
For details, see Client Service Encryption.
|
ALS
|
Supports the ALS function on the client side when client services are non-OTN services.
|
Synchronization
|
Synchronous Ethernet
|
Supports synchronous Ethernet processing when receiving GE (GFP-T) services.
Supports synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission when receiving GE (TTT-GMP) services.
Supports synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission when the client-side service type is 10GE LAN and the Port Mapping is Bit Transparent Mapping (10.7 G).
Supports synchronous Ethernet processing when the client-side service type is 10GE LAN and the Port Mapping is MAC Transparent Mapping (10.7 G).
NOTE:
In ODU1_ODU0 mode (OTU1->ODU1->ODU0), when OTU1 services are received on the client side, synchronous Ethernet processing is supported but synchronous Ethernet transparent transmission is not supported.
|
IEEE 1588v2
|
Supported
NOTE:
Supports this function on the client side only when receiving GE (GFP-T) services.
The port 1 to port 10 support this function when the client-side service type is 10GE LAN (GFP-F) and the Port Mapping is ODUflex.
Due to limited bandwidth on the board, a maximum of four channels of IEEE 1588v2 are concurrently supported when the client-side service type is 10GE LAN (GFP-F) and the Port Mapping is ODU2.
|

Supports this function when receiving 10GE LAN services on the client side and Port Mapping is set to MAC Transparent Mapping (10.7G).
|
Delay measurement (DM)
|
Supports DM. Specifically, the bidirectional delay between two tributary boards supporting DM can be measured, and the delay data is displayed on the NMS.
NOTE:
Delay measurement depends on service mapping paths:
-
When non-OTN services are received, the board supports delay measurement for the PM sections of upstream signals at ODU1, ODU1(ODU1_ODU0), ODU2, ODU2e.
-
When OTN services are received, the board supports delay measurement for the TCM sections of downstream signals at ODU1(ODU1_ODU0), ODU2, ODU2e.
|
Alarms and performance events monitoring
|
-
Monitors bit interleaved parity 8 (BIP8) bytes (Bursty mode) to help locate line failures.
-
Monitors B1 bytes to help locate line failures.
-
Monitors OTN alarms and performance events.
-
Monitors parameters such as the bias current, operating temperature, and optical power of a laser.
-
Provides remote network monitoring (RMON) and performance measurement functions for Ethernet services.
-
Supports Ethernet bandwidth usage of the RMON performance statistics.
|
OTN Overheads
|
Mapping processing complies with ITU-T G.7041 and ITU-T G.709. The ITU-T G.709-compliant frame formats and overhead processing are adopted.
