The IC600BF800 module is a local I/O receiver module manufactured by GE Fanuc as a member of the GE Series 6 product line. This I/O module is made for the Series 6 PLC modules that are used in all the I/O racks excluding the first input/output rack in the remote I/O station. It provides an interface for the data, address, and control signals between the CPU and I/O modules in this series. The GE Fanuc IC600BF800 I/O receiver module provides the connection in the daisy chain to the other Series 6 I/O racks in the chain. This I/O receiver module is designed to monitor 3 different error conditions. These conditions include daisy-chain power errors and errors in the continuity of I/O racks downstream from. The third type of error is errors in the parity of CPU output data as it is driven by the I/O transmitter module and detected I/O receiver modules that are downstream (also known as chain parity errors), and parity errors in the data output by the CPU (also known as local parity errors).
There are also corresponding LED indicators for indicating all of these errors that can be seen on the GE Fanuc IC600BF800 local I/O receiver module’s faceplate. The LED indicators turn off when the IC600BF800 module detects faults and they simplify the troubleshooting process. The IC600BF800 local I/O receiver module comes pre-installed and configured from the manufacturer in the intermediate I/O racks in the daisy chain. The operators of this module should, however, reconfigure this GE Fanuc module so that there is a proper termination for the I/O bus when the module needs to be installed at the daisy chain end of the I/O station. It also adds parity bits to the data bytes which are generated by the resident I/O modules, and it transfers the parity bits which are generated by I/O modules downstream.
