The GE Fanuc IC600BF805 AC/DC input module has an input voltage of 230 Volts AC/DC. It is a Series Six module with 8 input points and a faceplate and a circuit board that combine to form a complete module assembly. The module is mounted in the I/O rack or I/O rack section of the CPU in a PLC. The I/O rack offers backplane signals and regulated DC power from the power supply and it comes in 3 versions, including high-capacity DC power, high-capacity AC power, and standard AC power. The total current level that is being supplied from the power source makes the difference in the rack requirements. Standard I/O racks offer sufficient current to the modules for most applications. If an application needs I/O modules with current ratings exceeding 6.1 Amps, then a high-capacity I/O rack should be used.
When installing the IC600BF805 AC/DC input module, the users must follow the right sequence of steps. First, set the switches for Dual-In-Line-Package (DIP) at the back of the card slot on the rack backplane to create the right connection or compatibility between the IC600BF805 AC/DC input module and a group of 8 input numbers in sequence in the user program. Second, use the insertion or extraction tool that comes with the Series Six CPU to remove or insert the IC600BF805 AC/DC input module in the card slot. Third, line up the faceplate on top of the circuit board, ensure that the terminals are mated, and then use the thumbscrews to secure the faceplate at the bottom and top of the rack. Fourth, connect the user circuit appropriately. Lastly, line up the terminal cover on the top of the terminal block and slide the terminal cover into place.
