It is designed to operate as a node on a reflective memory network or as a dedicated link between CPUs in a redundancy system, particularly for hot standby CPU redundancy systems. The module has 128 megabytes of user memory and requires a single slot for installation. It does not have communication ports as it does not require protocol support for its operation. The internal power requirements for the module are 580 mA at 3.3VDC and 220 mA at 5VDC. The IC695RMX128 is compatible with the VMIC 5565 family of reflective memory devices and supports a high-speed optic network speed of 2.12 Gbaud with a maximum network transfer rate of 2.1 GB/s. Network error detection is supported, and the module allows for hot insertion, which is critical for minimizing downtime in industrial settings
