The DeltaV system’s S-series I/O interfaces are designed for quick assembly and error proof maintenance. All carriers snap onto T-DIN rails and interfaces snap into the I/O slots without the use of any tools

Each I/O interface has a separate wiring terminal block, which connects field wiring to the interface. The I/O card can easily be removed without touching the I/O wiring on the terminal block.

Some I/O cards can also use the fused terminal block, which is equipped with in-line fuses that can be pulled to isolate power to the field circuit

Traditional I/O interfaces have I/O function keys that allow the terminal block to be set to receive a specific I/O card.
