NM-Carbomer 691
INCI
Name: Carbomer
NM-Carbomer 691 is a
cross-linked polyacrylate polymer. it is polymerized in co-solvent system of
ethyl acetate and cyclohexane. This polymer provides suspension at low product
viscosity and improves freeze-thaw and high temperature stability. This polymer
performs well in challenging formulation environments at low and high pH. It is
recommended for use in all purpose cleaners, surface cleaners, multi-purpose
cleaners, drain openers, and fabric pretreatment systems.
Features and Benefits
1,Outstanding long flow property
and high clarity
2,Excellent freeze-thaw and high
temperature stability at low concentrations in oil-in-water emulsions
3,Excellent stability in
oxidizing systems such as those containing chlorine bleach or peroxides
4,Imparts instant thickening
upon neutralization to form high clarity gels
5,Offers stability in suitable
electrolyte systems
6,Provides shear-thinning
rheology to enable easy pumping and dispensing of finished products via trigger
sprayers
7,Provides yield value to allow
for the suspension of a wide variety of insoluble materials or particles
Recommended Applications
1,Dish Care: Enzyme Gels
2,Surface Care: Kitchen and Oven
Cleaners, Multipurpose, Scouring Creams
Formula Guidelines
1,Typical
recommended dosage at 0.2~1.5%.
2,To
disperse NM-Carbomer941 completely, it should be slowly and carefully sifted to
dispersion medium while the mix is stirred rapidly to avoid formation of lumps;
extremely high shear rate mixer should be carefully employed to avoid viscosity
loss.
3,The
ideal viscosity can be achieved at pH ranges of 5.0~10.0;
To achieve maximum thickening, NM-Carbomer 941 should be neutralized; in a
hydoalcoholic system, a correct neutralizer must be chosen carefully based on
the amount of alcohol to be gelled.
4,After
neutralization, high-shear and lasting stirring should be avoided to keep
stable thickening ability.
