TV CKD Parts Introduction - Prism Film/Sheet:
Prism Film BEF (Brightness Enhancement Film), or a prism, invented by 3 m products, and first used in the liquid crystal display (LCD), in order to improve the front of the display Brightness.
Mirror membrane is an optical film made from the prism structure made of acrylic resin and produced on PET substrate by using 3M micro-replication technology. The surface is a micro prism structure with a height of 20-50 microns. According to the principle of geometric optics, the light emitted from the backlight passes through the circulation of the prism membrane and the backlight system, and finally focuses on the direction of the front, thus achieving the brightening effect.
Usually a single prism is used because the display and TV require a larger brightness Angle than a laptop display. In large size liquid crystal modules, 3M usually recommends BEF III series prismatic membranes. Compared with BEFII, the prisms of BEFIII are not microprisms of equal size. The use of this random prism structure can eliminate the optical coupling and reduce the reflection mole effect.
