Mazdutide is a dual agonist of the GLP-1 receptor and glucagon receptor. It is an analog of oxyntomodulin (OXM).
It can promote insulin secretion, lower blood glucose levels, delay gastric emptying, regulate lipid metabolism, reduce fat deposition. It also has neuroprotective, anti-infectious and cardiovascular protective effects; on the other hand, activate GCGR, increase energy consumption, promote the oxidation and decomposition of hepatic fatty acids and improve hepatic lipid metabolism.
