The ModuleBus for PM891 has a fiber optical interface. The interface is designed for a maximum of seven clusters, of twelve non-redundant or six redundant modules. Redundant and non-redundant modules can be mixed. The fiber-optical interface is intended for local distribution of I/O clusters.
The status of power supplies in redundant configuration can be supervised via the SS8xx voting unit. The supervision signals SA and SB from the SS8xx are connected to the corresponding terminals of the CPU
