NM – Carbomer 2623 - Easy to disperse improved carbomer
INCI
Name: Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer
NM-Carbomer
2623 is a cross-linked polyacrylic acid copolymer, easy-to-disperse, being polymerized in a
toxicologically-preferred cosolvent system NM-Carbomer 2623 is designed for use as
a versatile rheology modifier in surfactant-based formulations where longer
flow, enhanced ease of use, and electrolyte tolerance are key requirements..
Features and Benefits
l
Easy
to disperse
l
Suitable for surfactant system
and high electrolyte rate system
l
Excellent
performance of stabilizing and suspending insoluble ingredients
l
Outstanding clarity
Recommended Applications
l Surface Care: Kitchen and Oven
Cleaners, Multipurpose, Scouring Creams
Formula Guidelines
l
Typical
use 0.2 to 1.5 wt%.
l
Dispersions
made with NM-Carbomer 2020 may appear to be non-uniform, with visible aggregate
particles which may settle into a separate phase when not mixed. In order to
achieve a homogeneous dispersion without phase separation, it is recommended to
prepare with dispersion with a minimum polymer concentration of 2% by weight.
l
In
systems with high concentration of surfactants, neutralization is preferred to
be carried out before addition of surfactants. Otherwise the high concentration
of surfactants especially catatonics and secondary surfactants would prevent
the uncoiling of the polymer, affecting the viscosity, yield value and clarity
of the end product.
